Lay Eucharistic Ministers and Visitors
If you would like to explore whether God might be calling you to become a Lay Eucharistic Minister (LEM) or Lay Eucharistic Visitor (LEV), please speak with one of the priests and plan to attend one of the following training sessions:
- Thursday, January 31, at 6:30 p.m.
- Saturday, February 9, at 10:00 a.m.
The sessions will be held at Christ Church and led by Deacon Chandler Jackson.
For those who are currently licensed as a LEM or LEV, attendance at a training session is not required but it is strongly encouraged. However, please contact the church office prior to March 1 to indicate your willingness to continue in this ministry.
Lay Eucharistic Ministers are those who assist the Celebrant in administering the sacrament at regular celebrations of Holy Eucharist. Lay Eucharistic Visitors are those who take the consecrated elements in a timely manner to members of the congregation who, by reason of illness or infirmity, are unable to attend the worship services. All LEMs and LEVs must be confirmed members of the church, and the ministries are performed under a license granted by the Bishop with the consent of the Rector.
